This Spectacular Antique Turkish Oushak carpet displays a remarkable geometric design and richly imbued palette. Woven shortly after the turn of the nineteenth century, the rug bears an unusual triptych style geometric medallion with a variety of blossom, diamond gul, arrow and cross motifs accompanied by zigzag borders. Understated cross lined cornices contain additional diamond guls and blossoms as well as hook patterns. Complimentary dual band guards contain repeating geometric patterns. The inner border possesses sub-geometric patterns of stylized botehs and linear branches. It is stunningly unique!
