This piece is a thick and lush vintage tribal Moroccan carpet which originated from the northern Middle Atlas mountains. The weavers of the piece, people of the Berber tribe, are known to create very special deep pile carpets, often using brown, aubergine, blue, deep mauve and dark gold. The features design incorporates lozenge, diamonds, crosses and checkerboard motifs. The dominant background hue is a deep magenta and mocha brown, with touches of tangerine and clear blue. In lovely condition.
